Chocolate Gravy on Dragon Creek earns the CLC Seal of Approval

Chocolate Gravy on Dragon Creek is the enchanting tale of Tootsy, a young girl growing up in the woods alongside a bubbling creek.  Tootsy is an inquisitive child who loves to play and explore along the banks of the creek.  As an only child, her parents dote upon her, frequently indulging her cravings for chocolate gravy, which is her favorite.

Tootsy and her friends have heard tales of the dragon which has held a young girl captive in his cave below the creek's whirling water hole for many years.  Despite the rumors, the "smart aleck" boys build a secret hideout nearby and Tootsy and her friends Cindy and Lindy decide to meet the boys there to act out a game of knights and princesses.  -But everything changes when Tootsy is pulled down into the whirling hole of the dragon's lair.

Author Doretta Elaine Wilson has crafted a story that will engage young readers as they play  and explore along with Tootsy.  Tootsy's sweet-natured, precocious tendencies will charm and delight readers as they discover life through the eyes of this delightful character.

The Wicked Passage Earns the Literary Classics Seal of Approval

We wish to recognize the literary talents of author, N.M. Singel, as we honor her book The Wicked Passage, with the Literary Classics Seal of Approval.

13 year old Blake Wyatt is an ordinary teenager with a fairly ordinary life.  He doesn't much care for history class and he's seriously considering quitting the football team.

When Blake discovers he is the youngest descendant of the Sapphire Travelers, those with the ability to travel through time, things start spiraling out of control.   He quickly learns that his world is much bigger than he once thought it to be.   Ultimately he learns to take responsibility for his actions as he gains a greater appreciation for the things he once took for granted.

Wicked Passage intertwines the classic story of good verses evil along with a dose of history, plus the excitement of time travel thrown in for good measure.  This is a tale which will intrigue young readers while promoting good values and an appreciation for historical events.

The Wicked Passage comes highly recommended and earns our Seal of Approval.

Award Winning Author, Joyce Shor Johnson

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WRITING? I have been writing for as long as I can remember. I know this sounds cliche, but it is true.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO BEGIN WRITING? Words. --I love words and how they fit together.

WHAT WAS THE INSPIRATION BEHIND YOUR AWARD WINNING TITLE, THE CASTING? An evening with close friends talking about ancient history and technology. Okay, I'll just say it...I'm a geek!

IS THIS YOUR FIRST BOOK? The Casting is my first published book. I have another completed and am working on a third.

DO YOU HAVE ANY NEW BOOKS IN THE WORKS? Yes, I do. HOUSE OF GIRLS, but no there is no release date as this time.

TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF: I write middle grade and young adult novels. I'm fascinated by ancient technology and love to travel the world. Some of the amazing places I have been include honeymooning in Africa, going to the top of the Schilthorn, in Switzerland where the James Bond Movie, On Her Majesty's Secret Service was filmed, exploring the salt mines in Saltzburg, Austria, and boating on a crocodile infested river in Costa Rica.

TELL US SOMETHING INTERESTING THAT OUR READERS MIGHT FIND FASCINATING ABOUT YOU: I'm adopted. and twenty years ago, was invited to appear on the Geraldo Rivera show for an episode on reuniting with my birth parents, I turned it down. I met them privately instead.

WHAT DO YOU MOST ENJOY DOING IN YOUR SPARE TIME? Traveling! I want to go everywhere and see everything. I'm just naturally curious and love to explore.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE TV SHOW/MOVIE? I'd rather read!

WHAT CHALLENGES DO YOU FACE AS AN AUTHOR? Time! There is never enough time in the day to write without interruption.

DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR OTHER ASPIRING AUTHORS? Read everything. Even in genres you may not like. You never know when you'll come across a solution to a dilemma.

CAN YOU OFFER ANY TIPS ON GETTING PUBLISHED? Rejection stinks! But it is not you getting rejected, it is the story. So revise, revise, revise after a rejection. You will improve what you have.

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU'D LIKE TO SHARE WITH OUR READERS? I'd love to hear from any readers. So you can follow me @thewritejoyce or contact me through my blog at http://thewritejoyce.blogspot.com

To receive such prestigious awards from a reputable company has made my books very competitive among other books.  Paperback book sales have increased dramatically. Large orders, through Amazon and expanded distribution sites, have been anywhere from 12-28 books at a time. I can only assume these orders were from book stores or classrooms."
