Certainly Sensible, by Pamela Woods-Jackson, earns the Literary Classics Seal of Approval.

Susan Benedict and her three daughters have been ousted from the mansion they call home.  It seems Susan’s ex-husband, Daniel, has just been remarried and his new wife seeks the social status which comes from living in their high-end neighborhood.  Adding insult to injury Daniel has pulled the plug on his daughters’ allowance and private school tuitions.  So with little warning, the Benedict ladies must learn to fend for themselves, making do with the few resources they have at their disposal.  Along the way, they learn to lean on each other while finding an inner strength to become better versions of themselves.

While set in modern times, this book felt slightly reminiscent of some of the stylized romance films of the 50s and 60s; but it also bears a striking resemblance to Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility.  For those who love a good romance (or two or three) along with a feel-good happy ending, this book will hold great appeal.

The Reign, by Lynne Stringer, earns the Literary Classics Seal of Approval

The Reign, by Lynne Stringer, is a gripping novel which takes readers on a veritable roller-coaster ride of sci-fi adventure.  Sarah is the Overlord of the planet where she has lived for only a short time.  Her position and title is her birthright, but there are those who do not respect her as the newly appointed leader of their world.  Thankfully she is under the protection of some the finest and most faithful guards who will risk anything to ensure her safety.  But when someone from Sarah's past shows up, Sarah is haunted by questions that have plagued her for years.  Determined to get answers, she sets out to find the truths that have been hidden from her since her childhood.

Book #3 in the Verindon series is filled with action, romance, and enough plot twists to keep the reader guessing all the way to the end.  Stringer has skillfully crafted a tale which will appeal to readers who enjoy science fiction, romance, mystery and even action novels.  This book reads well as a stand-alone, but should be read as part of the series to be fully appreciated.

The Reign is highly recommended and has earned the Literary Classics Seal of Approval

Bravo for Jennifer Gibson's Sway! - A Literary Classics Seal of Approval Recipient

Jessie is a hearing impaired high school student who has endured merciless bullying at the hands of her classmates for far too long.  As if that were not enough, some of her teachers are impatient with her because of the additional effort required to accommodate her disability.  All she really wants is to just fit in, but that's not easily done given her circumstances.

Based on a true story, Sway is the empowering story of a young-adult who rises above her circumstances and does so with a charm and finesse that is both touching and inspiring.  Jessie's encounter with a young man named Ethan is a significant component of this story as she finds true friendship with a sweet romantic element that makes Sway all the more appealing.

Jennifer Gibson's depiction of Jessie's story is insightful and moving.  This book comes highly recommended and has earned the Literary Classics Seal of Approval.
