What's the Matter, by Renee Heiss, Earns the Literary Classics Seal of Approval
What's the Matter? is a great read for little ones. --It took us a while to pick up on the double entendre in this book's title... but by then we were already hooked. Author, Renee Heiss, has created a fun and interesting book about the states of matter from frozen, to liquid and then gas as told in relation to a personified patch of ice. It is a sad state of affairs when the EnteleTrons discover that the temperature is rising and Ice is in peril of turning into a liquid. The EnteleTrons stay with Ice as he transforms into Liquid and then Gas. Easy to understand and extremely interesting, this book is a great way to teach kids about states of matter. Within the book, there are options to click on links to a video where kids can learn how to make their own thermometer with household items and another link showing how to make a barometer.
What's the Matter? comes highly recommended and we look forward to reading more books in the EntelTron series.
