Outdancing the Universe is a lucent compilation of free verse poetry which is highly deserving of praise. Even more so, when one learns it was penned by a teenage girl. Elements of contrasting light and darkness are poignantly depicted in this raw glimpse into the soul of a young woman along with those whose lives have etched their mark upon her very being. Poet Lauren Gilmore is genuine, eloquent, and insightful as she paints vivid pictures through the written word in this chiaroscuro of human strength and frailty.
We look forward to reading more work by this talented young writer who has certainly left an impression upon the world of poetry. Outdancing the Universe is highly recommended and has earned the Literary Classics Seal of Approval.
