Birds of a Feather, by Karen Chacek, has earned the CLC Seal of Approval

Jake is a young golden eagle whose father, Captain Eagle, has a stellar reputation in the Avian Kingdom.   Usually Jake loves being the son of Captain Eagle.  But some days it can be pretty exhausting fulfilling other's expectations to follow in his father's path.  It seems he must always be on his best behavior to uphold the family name. So when Jake's dad goes on a long visit to see his grandfeather, Jake decides to take a break from being good for a day.  And when he does, things don't turn out quite as he had planned.

Karen Chacek's Birds of a Feather  is a delightful children's picture book and part of the
Avian Kingdom series of books.  Children will love reading about Jake as he seeks to find his own way, all the while discovering gems of truth on his path to discovery.  Illustrations by Emilio Hern√°ndez are a lovely addition to this book which is sure to find a treasured place in the hearts of young readers.
