Unveiling the Wizards' Shroud earns the CLC Seal of Approval

Unveiling the Wizards' Shroud is the tale of Owen, a boy who is the likely heir to his father's throne.  But Owen has no desire to become king and dreads the moment when, on his fifteenth birthday,  King Kendrick will most likely announce that he is to be his father's successor.  But when the king becomes ill, Owen's only hope is to turn to Cedric, the wizard who may have been responsible for his mother's death.

Author, Eric Price has crafted a gripping story, full of imagery, that draws the reader into Owen's quest which takes place in a fanciful world of magic and mystery.

Unveiling the Wizards' Shroud is an enjoyable read that would make a great movie for teens.  This book has earned the Literary Classics Seal of Approval.

Owlet earns the Literary Classics Seal of Approval

Iris is a seventeen year old girl who suffers from severe asthma.  Her life has been quite sheltered, in part due to her poor health; but there seems to be more to the story than just that.  Her world is shrouded in mystery and her father seems bent on keeping her in the dark on so many issues.

For as long as she can remember, she has lived with her father and a woman named Diana, who home-schools and provides care for her. For years Emma has had recurring dreams which she can't seem to put out of her mind. In particular, she dreams of an ethereal home on a secluded island.

When Iris learns she will be traveling with Diana to the island home where her mother and father had once lived, her dreams start coming back to her in full force.  Iris, who has no recollection of the island, begins to realize the parallels between her dreams and the place where she now resides.

As Iris begins to learn the truth behind her past, and the realities of her world, she comes to understand the sacrifices which have been made over the years to protect her from the secrets she has yet to fully discover.

Owlet, by Emma Michaels,  is a refreshingly unique book with an introduction which will entice and enthrall readers.  The book starts out very strong with a bit of a cliff-hanger for a finish.  Many unanswered questions will most surely be revealed in the sequel to this beautifully penned book.

Owlet has earned the Literary Classics Seal of Approval.

The Hellandback Kids: Be Careful What You Wish For, by LL Helland, is an award-winning middle-grade novel which holds great appeal for young readers.  When siblings: Jon, Brittany, Trisha and Chris, embark upon a journey to their great-grandmother's home in Scotland, they quickly learn that things are not as they may first appear in the unusual home where they are staying as first-time guests.  As each of the four brothers and sisters finds themselves in a magical world where they are living the lives they have always wished for, they come to learn that sometimes what one wishes for is not always what is best.

As this story unfolds it gains momentum and eventually becomes quite a page-turner.  Despite young Chris' propensity for sarcasm and insolence, we found this book to have considerable merit in the areas of life skills and character building messages as well as in its entertainment value. A more thorough edit may have helped with the flow of this book, but overall we found The Hellandback Kids to be an entertaining read and we look forward to seeing future works from this budding author.  This book is recommended for middle-school children who enjoy such books as Narnia, Harry Potter, and other fantasy fiction works.
