Neither Night nor Day, by Karen Chacek, earns the CLC Seal of Approval

Vladimira is about to turn seven weeks old.  On the evening of her seventh week of life she will reach a right of passage.  All young bats go on their first solo flight at seven weeks.  Vladimira can hardly wait for her first solo flight.  But when her grandparents tell her about the magic hour, the time of day when the sky is bathed in orange and violet and it is neither dark nor light, she wonders if she should dare risk being out during this fabled hour.

Neither Night nor Day is a wonderful children's picture book that young readers are sure to love.  Children will delight in Vladimira's story and will relate to her desires to venture out on her own to taste the zest of freedom while exerting her youthful independence.  Neither Night nor Day earns our recommendation and has earned the Literary Classics Seal of Approval.
