The Santa Spy, by Patrick Bates earns the CLC Seal of Approval

When young Darren questions the validity of Santa Claus, he is met with incredulous stares and audible gasps from his parents.  When he explains to his parents the improbability of a man in a sleigh delivering that many presents around the world in one night, their response is that he shouldn't question it, or Santa might not bring him any more presents.

But Darren concludes that finding answers outweighs the risks.  So being the bright and inquisitive boy that he is, he devises a master plan to get to the bottom of the situation and find out once and for all if Santa really exists.

Author Patrick Bates has written a book that is as funny as it is engaging.  Sharp-witted Darren is a remarkably likable character whose personality practically jumps off the page.  Colorful illustrations, by Kimberly Soderberg are a great addition to this picture book which will most definitely be a hit with young readers.

Bravo for The Santa Spy!  This book comes highly recommended for home and school libraries, classroom settings and for gift giving.  The Santa Spy has earned the Literary Classics Seal of Approval.
